YOUTH PROGRAMS
The YMCAs of Avery and Mitchell Counties are proud to offer Youth Programs that serve children from 6 weeks old to eighth grade. In our different programs, all children are nurtured to reach their full potential through peer engagement, learning opportunities, and the development of lifelong skills.

Drop-In Child Care
The YMCAs of Avery and Mitchell Counties are proud to offer Drop-In Child Care, serving children from 6 weeks to 12 years old. In our Child Development Center, all children are nurtured to reach their full potential while parents utilize the YMCA’s facilities. There is a 2-hour time limit for children dropped off in the Child Development Centers.
Hugh Chapman Early Learning Center
The Hugh Chapman Early Learning Center is dedicated to serving 2 year-olds through 5 year-olds in our facility. Learning starts from the moment your child is born, and our Staff will support the rapid growth and development that happens in your young child(ren). We are here to provide a safe and engaging space for young minds to learn and thrive.

Elementary School Programs

In our after-school and summer camp programs, all children are nurtured to reach their full potential through peer engagement, learning opportunities, and the development of lifelong skills. Teen Mental Health Resource
The YMCAs of Avery and Mitchell Counties are dedicated to supporting youth mental health through resources specifically designed for teens and their families.
